Chlorinators

Automatic chlorinators are a method or process of making chlorine. You need these devices to maintain a level of sanitizer in the pool water to help keep it clear and bacteria free. There are other forms of water sanitaztion but we will only address chlorine.

Chlorine is one of the largest costs in pool maintenance. It comes in various forms and depending upon its composition it reacts differently with the water. For example:

Calcium hypochlorite contains approximately 65% chlorine, 35% inert ingredients and is very alkaline. This chlorine will automatically raise the pH of the water. It comes in granular form and is commonly used to "shock" or "super-chlorinate" the pool water

Tri-Chlor contains approximately 90% chlorine, 10% inert ingredients and is very acidic. This chlorine will automatically lower the pH of the water. It comes mainly in tablet form but also in granular form. It is commonly used to maintain a chlorine residual in the pool water and is used in "tablet-feeders"

Chlorine Generators produce 100% chlorine and is pH neutral. This means it does not affect the pH of the water and it uses salt to make chlorine.

The benefits of natural chlorination, the AutoClear way

  • AutoClear produces pH friendly chlorine-no more red eyes and itchy skin.
  • Your pool is always ready, with crystal clear "silky" water.
  • All the chlorine your pool needs-for up to 60% less.
  • AutoClear sanitizes pools up to 35,000-gallon capacity.
  • Eliminates need for shock chemicals and algaecides.

AutoClear works simply, naturally

AutoClear uses an electrolytic cell to convert ordinary salt (NaCl) dissolved in your pool's water into pure chlorine. The cell is installed on the return side of the pool's filtration system, and is controlled automatically by a simple-to-operate control unit mounted nearby. Once the chlorine has sanitized your pool by oxidizing algae, bacteria, and organic contaminants, it converts back into salt. This cycle is repeated indefinitely, so AutoClear can make all the chlorine your pool needs. If your pool water doesn't already have the low level of salt required (equal to one teaspoon of salt dissolved in a gallon of water), it can be easily added. Once the proper salt level is attained, your pool's water will be noticeably softer and silkier.

Easy and convenient to use

  • AutoClear chlorinates your pool automatically so you never have to buy, handle, add, or store chlorine again.
  • AutoClear is compact in size and easy to install and troubleshoot.
  • Diagnostics with a brighter LED display are easy to read at a glance.

Environmentally Friendly

AutoClear completely replaces ordinary pool chlorine. And that means no more chlorine spills that can pollute the environment, no more containers to dispose of, no more exposure to hazardous chemicals.

If you choose to use a tablet feeder, the Rainbow #320 is the preferred choice.
